“The physical changes
of pregnancy can be
 stressful and a
soothing massage
will loosen tight muscles, relieve aches and pains, increase your energy
levels and calm the
nervous system.

Regular massage during pregnancy also helps you prepare for labour.

It enables you
 to become more aware
and comfortable with your new body and allows you
to approach the birthing
process with confidence.”

Pregnancy Massage with Cathy Morris

Cathy takes special pleasure in seeing her pregnant patients throughout all stages of their pregnancy. As well as having certification in pregnancy massage, Cathy is trained to use aromatherapy blends for common health issues during pregnancy.

Pregnancy Massage can help with relief of the following complaints during pregnancy:

  • Morning sickness
  • Nausea and headaches
  • Pain and discomfort
  • Backache and pelvic pain
  • Cramps and groin pain
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Lack of sleep and fatigue
  • Digestive problems, e.g. constipation
  • Swollen/puffy ankles and legs

First Trimester

Massage and Aromatherapy can assist in the initial stages of pregnancy by helping with fatigue and nausea. A soothing massage can help balance your nervous system so you can deal with the heightened emotions you’re experiencing.

Second Trimester

This is when you begin to feel significant physical changes in your body. Massage can help provide relief from back pain, cramps and poor posture. It can also help combat fatigue, insomnia and stress.

Third Trimester

As you reach the final stages of your pregnancy, massage can help relieve backaches and cramps and prepare your muscles, ligaments and joints for labour. This is an important time to nourish your emotional wellbeing and help stress, nervousness, impatience and fear with the use of aromatherapy.

Postnatal Support & Infant Massage

After birth, it is also important to continue to maintain your physical and emotional wellbeing with regular massage. During such a wonderful time it is very common for new mothers to experience postpartum “blues” and feel overwhelmed from your new lifestyle. The physical demands of being a new mother can cause muscular tension and decreased energy which can all be helped with a soothing massage.

We also provide information and instruction on newborn and infant massage which can be a wonderful way to create a connection with your child through the powerful form of touch. It can also help awaken their sensitivity and awareness of their own body at a young age.

Aromatherapy and Pre-Natal Care

Aromatherapy is a safe and effective way to help you have a smooth and enjoyable experience during your pregnancy. Cathy Morris is a fully qualified Aromatherapist trained in care for pregnancy, labour and infancy.

For your physical body, this form of therapy can help with conditions such as sore and tired muscles, low energy levels, nausea, tender breasts, varicose veins and stretch marks. Aromatherapy is a powerful tool when helping you to overcome the emotional changes you experience during your pregnancy. Feelings of stress, nervousness and fear can be managed with the use of specific essential oils to lift your spirits.
